GLOBAL STEEL SCENARIO

Indian Iron Ore industry in Global Perspective
India's global status as a store house of high quality mineral wealth

STEEL MARKET
Future of Indian Steel vis-a-vis the world

India has low per capita steel consumption - less than 30kg compared with the world average of about 150kg - and it wants to stimulate growth in demand to improve the quality of life, especially in the rural India. The new steel policies has measures to strenghten distribution channels and promote the use of the material generally.

RAW MATERIALS
Steel producers struggle to pass on the increasing raw materials costs

Concern remains over the demand for basic scrap grades in some of the Asian markets, particularly in South Korea and Taiwan, where demand for long products in the construction sector remains sluggish. This could have troubled Japanese basic scrap grade exporters, however, the pick up in demand from China, has supported strenghtening prices.

IRON ORE
India's share in global iron ore trade increased significantly in the international market.
The global scenario for the metals and minerals sector witnessed a significant upturn in the last three years and is expected to continue growing over the next 10-12 years driven, in turn, by China's growth in demand.

METAL INDUSTRY

Aluminium promises to keep momentum and shine brighter in the near future
Aluminium industry in India is growing and preparing itself to meet the future demands in the country. the poor men's silver has been successful in replacing steel to certain extent and reaching the height of applications in a number of industries including railways and aviation.

COMPANY PROFILE
Efficient and low cost upgrading of iron ore lump and fines
Mineral processing is characterized by a constant adaption to changing raw materials and market conditions. It is the link between the ined raw material and a marketable product.

STEEL TECHNOLOGY
A multi-function measure system for hot-strip mills
